Mission Statement

The purpose of the Administrative Coordinator is to be responsible for coordinating all administrative and management functions of the county government not otherwise vested by laws in boards or commissions, or in other elected officers.

Description

Assist in the administration and coordination of all County-wide functions, providing services to the County Board, County Board Committees, County Committees, Boards and Commissions, Elected Officials, Appointed Officials and Department Heads. The Administrative Coordinator assists in employee recruitment/selection, employee and labor relations, wage and salary administration, employee development employee records, and affirmative action. The Administrative Coordinator develops and proposes for the County Board consideration, policy initiatives to strengthen county government, and to implement laws, County ordinances, resolutions, County policies and procedures.

The Administrative Coordinator participates in and coordinates labor negotiations, recruitment, selection, placement, transfer, and removal of employees. Additionally, major responsibilities of this department include developing the County-wide personnel system, personnel policies and procedures, central and complete personnel files, updating the county's Affirmative Action Program and providing guidance for the county and its employees regarding personnel matters.

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for risk management/loss control and evaluates all insurance needs and recommends appropriate coverages.
