TO: The Honorable Chairperson and Members of the Oconto County Board of Supervisors
RE: APPROVAL OF NEED TO BUILD A NEW LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER
WHEREAS, the existing jail facility is old, outdated, inefficient, needs major repairs, lack space, lack storage areas and,
WHEREAS, a State Inspector has issued reports indicating numerous deficiencies in our current facility, and
WHEREAS, the inmate population has exceeded our State approved capacity for numerous years, thus resulting in housing some of our inmates in other county facilities, and
WHEREAS, the existing jail facility poses a liability threat to the County due to the issues identified above, and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff Office offices are inefficient, lack space, lack storage areas,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Oconto County Board of Supervisors hereby approves that a need exist to construct a new Law Enforcement Center.
