Medicine Drop Box
A Medication drop box is now available at the Oconto Sheriff’s Department at 301 Washington Street near the dispatch center. The box is made available through a cooperative effort between the Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Health and Human Services.

You may place in the drop box, expired or unwanted prescriptions and medicine, vitamins and herbal medicines, pet medications, over the counter medicines, and inhalers and nebulizers.

The drop box is not for illegal drugs, sharps needles or syringes, non medical inhalers, mercury, diabetes monitors or supplies, commercial business or long-term care deposits.

When dropping medication off:
• Pills in bottles: take the pills out of the bottle and pour the pills directly into the drop box. Take the bottle with you and throw away elsewhere.
• Pills in blister packages: take the blister package out of the outside cardboard container, and drop the blister pack directly into the drop box. Throw away the outside cardboard container elsewhere.
• Liquids: Make sure the lid is closed tightly and place container in the drop box.
