Soil and Water Resource Management Grant Program - Practices in the Soil and Water Resource Managenent Grant Program consist of Manure Storage, Barnyards, Erosion Control Structures, Stream Crossings, Ditch plugs and other practices. Sign up by contacting the Land Conservation Office @ 920-834-7150. You can also stop at the office located at 410 1/2 E. Main Street Lena, WI 54139. Sign up is on a first-come first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
USDA-NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service) - The NRCS offers cost share assistance to farmers and landowners through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). EQIP provides technical and financial help to landowners to implement conservation practices that protect soil and water quality. Manure storage, grassed waterways, barnyard runoff protection, nutrient management, and many other conservation practices are eligible for EQIP. In addition, EQIP also offers financial assistance for landowners to improve wildlife habitat on their property for projects such as: wildlife ponds, tree plantings, and windbreaks. County Cost Share Program - The county has set aside $20,000.00 per year for various county-wide cost share projects. A $2,500.00 maximum per project is in place to be used on lakes, stream or agriculture practices. Contact the Land Conservation Division to learn more about eligible practices & rates for this cost share.
