The Medicine Drop Box at the Sheriff's Office is located in the Law Enforcement Center at 220 Arbutus Avenue. Medications are accepted during business hours, Monday through Friday 8a-4p. The front window will assist you in disposing of your medicines.
Acceptable items include: expired or unwanted prescriptions and medicine, vitamins and herbal medicines, pet medications, over the counter medicines, and inhalers and nebulizers.
The drop box does not accept illegal drugs, sharps needles or syringes, non medical inhalers, mercury, diabetes monitors or supplies, commercial business or long-term care deposits. Sharps needles and syringes are accepted at the Oconto Pharmacy and the Oconto Bellin Hospital.
In order to drop off medication, please follow the below instructions:
- All pills must be out of the bottle and poured into a ziploc bag with the bag sealed tightly. No pill bottles are accepted.
- Pills in blister packages/bubble packs must be taken out of the outside cardboard container and placed directly into the ziploc bag. Cardboard containers/packages are not accepted.
- All liquids must be in the original container with a tight seal and placed in a ziploc bag.
- Creams and ointments must be in the original container with a tight seal and placed in a ziploc bag.
