Juvenile Restraining Order

There are two types of juvenile restraining orders/injunctions:
- Harassment
- Child Abuse
Juvenile Restraining Order - Harassment
This type of restraining order is heard in Juvenile Court because the Respondent (person whom protection is sought) is:
- 17 years of age or younger, or
- Adult, but the alleged victim is a child under protection and services in the Juvenile Court
The Petitioner (person seeking the restraining order) can be either an:
- An adult filing as the alleged victim, or
- A parent, attorney, or other adult filing on the behalf of an alleged child victim under protection in a CHIPS (Children in Need of Protection Services) action.
Jurisdiction
The Petitioner may file for a temporary restraining order/injunction in the county where the Petitioner resides; or where the Respondent resides; or where the incident occurred.
Filing Fee
There is no fee to file a petition for a juvenile harassment restraining order/injunction.
Filing Instructions
Petitions regarding juvenile restraining orders are returned to the Oconto County Circuit Court Office Building C, 301 Washington Street, Rm 1174, Oconto, WI 54153 for filing.

Juvenile Restraining Order Child Abuse
This type of restraining order is heard in Juvenile Court because the Respondent (person whom protection is sought) is:
