Talk to your doctor before receiving the flu vaccine if you have a severe allergy to chicken eggs, had a severe reaction to a flu vaccine in the past, or if you developed Guillian-Barré syndrome (GBS) within 6 weeks of receiving a flu vaccine in the past.

Vaccination: CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and up receive a flu vaccine every year. The flu vaccine will protect you against several different types of flu viruses.
Everyday Healthy Habits Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough and sneeze. Wash your hands often with soap and water; if that’s not available use an alcohol based hand sanitizer. Stay home when you are sick so that you don’t get others sick.
Antiviral Drugs: These are drugs that can treat the flu. It’s important that they are taken early, within 2 days of getting the flu. For some people, the flu can make them very sick and cause dangerous complications, so it’s very important that they receive antiviral drugs. These people include pregnant women, young children, people 65 and older and people with certain chronic health conditions.
